Retired Butler Aviation Supervisor James Orlowski
During his time as the supervisor of swing shift with Butler Aviation at Ohara Airport, James Orlowski was responsible for managing and supervising the maintenance and cleaning crew. Regular activities included unloading baggage, supervising flight operations, and completing maintenance procedures during night shifts and other non-traditional work periods. James Orlowski also ensured regulatory compliance and safety standards at Butler Aviation. His efforts in this role contributed to the smooth and safe continuation of operations outside of the airport’s nine-to-five schedule.
James Orlowski studied aviation at Belleville Area College, now part of the Southwestern Illinois College aviation program. His studies encompassed a depth of aviation subjects, including aircraft maintenance, aviation management, and pilot training. He also studied police science at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.
Now retired, James Orlowski enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He stays physically active through tennis and golf. A few of his other interests range from performing live music to playing board games at home.
